Michigan may not be a common summer destination but it is absolutely a great place to embark on a whole new summer escapade. Shaped by the Four Great lakes, this state is composed of the lower and upper peninsula. It offers 3,200 miles of sandy coastlines along with rocky shores, magnificent cliffs, colossal hills and lots of scenic views.

Michigan summer vacations are perfect for outdoor adventures, water activities, family outings and group gathering. The state is actually well-surrounded by beautiful parks, fantastic waterfalls, hiking trails, picturesque nature views and numerous camping sites.

There are a multitude of summer activities that you can do in Michigan. With nearly over 100 protected state parks, tourists are provided with the opportunity to explore the unspoiled wilderness of the state’s deepest forests. Find solitude as you as you gaze around the scenic views of magnificent mountain ranges and cliffs. Take on a challenge and commence in an exciting hiking adventure at the Porcupines Mountains Wilderness State Park.

Indulge in a memorable sea exploration and discover its hidden marine treasures at Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary. After which, go along the Tip of the Thumb Heritage Trail and learn more about the historical and cultural heritage of the area.

For a rejuvenating summer experience, spend a relaxing day at Michigan’s Beachtowns. Get excellent water views and maritime attractions at Muskegon. Experience the charm of the 19th century small of town of Saugatack-Douglas. I just got home from a week in my home town of St. Joseph, Michigan! Beautiful setting right on Lake Michigan and a charming town. Thanks for plugging my home state.
